Each year, the Howard County Library System’s Evening in the Stacks is one of our most anticipated events. Admittedly, this year felt a little extra special as we shifted back to an in-person configuration after a successful virtual edition of the event in 2021. If you are just hearing of Evening in the Stacks for the first time, this annual HCLS event exists to foster a connection with the Howard County community and raise funds for an initiative of the library system’s choosing. This year, the event raised funds to create welcoming and inviting spaces for teens throughout the six branches of HCLS.

While the pandemic has undoubtedly been the hottest topic since the start of the decade, there have been encouraging advancements in other areas that we feel are worth discussing as well! For example, you don’t have to look far to discover advancements in sustainability across virtually every industry in the country. The topic of sustainability may have seemed like a trend in the past, but we promise it’s not going away any time soon. We simply cannot expect to maintain our current quality of life, the widespread diversity of life on our planet, and our planet’s ecosystems without specific efforts to embrace sustainability. As such, here are four things we are doing in the event planning industry to keep sustainability at the forefront.

Throughout our time in business at Innovative Party Planners, we’ve noticed a hand full of things that separate good events from great events. Paying close attention to the little details and all the planning that goes into big events is critical, and seeing the end result come together after all that planning is among the most rewarding parts of our work.

The start of spring always marks the beginning of our busy season, but that has been more accurate this year than perhaps ever before. While the pandemic isn't quite over yet, it appears to be fading into the background of our lives. With most people vaccinated and infection rates dropping we are seeing a huge increase in demand for events. In short, events are back, people are ready to party, and we are headed full swing into our event season!
