Abby in Paris
A quick browse through the photos from Abby’s Bat Mitzvah will shine the spotlight on the guest of honor and the attention to detail that went into just about every aspect of this one of a kind, “Winter in Paris” celebration.
During the Omicron surge in mid-January, the event itself was up in the air until it was decided that too much time and energy had gone into making the gathering so special to cancel. After all, everyone on the guest list needed a reason to celebrate after the last few years of limited contact. Even if the guest list had to be reduced to Abby, her mom, dad and brother John, the family was committed to making this celebration a memorable one. After selecting Prism Annapolis for their venue once their original choice wasn’t able to accommodate the event due to COVID, we began working to ensure the whole family would cherish the memories of Abby’s celebration.
Transforming Prism Annapolis to Paris, France
The venue offered a perfect blank canvas with an industrial feel and already had string lights in the main room, which was perfect for the Winter in Paris theme! The venue was complimented with themed centerpieces, appetizers, and desserts that were directly inspired from the City of Light. One of our favorite décor elements was the event logo. We created it ourselves with the help and advice of Abby along the way. The final product was the perfect finishing touch to tie the entire aesthetic together!
Keeping Safety First
To host a party amid the Omicron surge, we knew we’d have to leave no stone unturned when it came to safety. Luckily, the hosting family was on the exact same page here. Abby’s mother ordered rapid tests and asked all guests and vendors to test before event. The guest list did shrink from around 140 initially down to 100 due to guest’s comfort level. To keep everyone safe throughout the event, mask mandates were enforced indoors.
