Minimalism Is In

While many parties in 2022 embraced decadence, color, and celebrated our opportunity to get together again, minimalism appears to be in for 2023. There are a variety of ways to incorporate minimalism into your party, including in the color palette that you use (stick to neutral tones), the furniture rentals you incorporate, and the tablescapes that you create.
The nod to industrial design will continue to be popular with sleek lines, metal accents, and earthy industrial accents. Pay attention to textures like wood grains and basket weaves to add details to your event.

Florals, Gold, and Plaid Are Back

Plaid has been on-trend for a while now, and it’s here to stay! From bold buffalo plaid to classic crisp prep-school plaids, there are tons of ways to add personality to your party with this print. Florals are all the rage and they can be used to accent solids in your tablescapes and décor or incorporated in the form of fresh flowers or accents on your event stationery.

Unique E-vites Instead of Invites

Traditional paper invitations have been around for decades. While they’re still a lovely memento, e-vites are one of the hottest party trends for 2023. E-vites allow you endless customization options and a chance to integrate things like video into your invitation and are a nod to sustainable event solutions.

One caution about this trend. Your guests may lose track of the e-vite email, so be sure to send it out a few times with reminders to keep it top of mind. Some of your guests may consider the e-vite less serious invitations and others will still prefer paper invites. Paper invitations are formal and when included with a paper RSVP, have meant you are committed to being there and a seat is held in your name. While e-vite RSVP’s have in the past been sent for less formal events where a precise count is not needed.

Consider setting up an event website. Have your e-vite include a link to it. Send a save-the-date postcard or magnet with the link or a QR code to your event website.

Comfy, Homey Chairs Are Here

Chiavari chairs are virtually synonymous with galas and weddings. However, we can all agree that they are not very comfortable. Comfy chairs have been growing in popularity for all types of events. Incorporate them by starting with your guests’ chairs, incorporating a cozy seating grouping, or armchairs at your head tables.

Tablescapes Over Centerpieces

As social media explodes with influencers and impressive displays at events, décor and buffet displays are expanding too. Charcuterie displays and long tablescapes continue to reign as party trends for 2023, and they’re expected to be more popular than traditional one-piece centerpieces.

Photo Spots

Perhaps it was the isolation during COVID that brought this trend about. Check out any of your social media and it is filled with people posing at events. Guests are letting everyone know they were there in attendance so creating a fabulous Instagram-worthy photo spot at your event is a must for 2023.

You want to make sure to have a focal large wow and there is no better way to do this than adding air-filled balloon garlands to the backdrop. Helium-filled balloons have been going out with the dwindling supply of helium and increased expense. That is why air-filled balloon treatments are here to stay in 2023. Also, be sure to light the backdrop properly or no one will see it.
