Every event is a unique undertaking and an opportunity to showcase the creativity and passions of our clients, and a recent event that combined baby naming and Friendsgiving is proof that anything is possible.
One-of-a-Kind Event
One of our longtime clients came to us in need of assistance in planning a special event. Every year, this client sponsors the Kiddush luncheon at his synagogue on the anniversary of his bar mitzvah. However, this year he also honored his new granddaughter and celebrated her baby naming.
In addition to all this celebrating, our client wanted to include a mitzvah project in his event, as a way to give back to the community. In the past for one of his Bar ‘Mitzvahversaries’, we created centerpieces that were donated to Camps Louise and Airy, and our client funded scholarships for children to attend. So, when he called us and told us about adding in celebrating his Granddaughter’s baby naming, we immediately saw an opportunity to do something amazing that combined the baby naming with a chance to give back to the community and we knew just how!
Giving Back and Having Fun
In honor of his new granddaughter, we suggested working with an organization that targets newborns and mothers and had happened to have hired us to assist them with their annual Friendsgiving Award Gala the following week. He loved the idea, and Heidi introduced him to an amazing organization called MOMCares. This was the perfect chance to bring everyone together. As Alan Fink, Lucy’s grandfather, reminded us, “a family simcha (joyous occasion) can be turned into a philanthropic action and supports our community.”
Our client worked with Julie to create the perfect centerpieces that would decorate the tables at the kiddush luncheon and later be taken to the Friendsgiving that Heidi was planning and donated to MOMCares.
The centerpieces were diaper bags branded for MOMCares, filled with items and products useful for NICU moms and babies. The diaper bags included bears with MOMCares t-shirts for the babies and we made sure to make an extra one for our client’s granddaughter so she could look back on this simcha one day and commemorate the occasion when MOMCares was able to receive donations that will give many local mothers the critical support that they need.
The synergy between Heidi and Julie behind the scenes allowed both these events to be a huge success!
