Still Working Remotely? Celebrate the Holidays Virtually with Your Team!
Your typical holiday office party is going to look a little different this year. With remote work still prevalent across the entire country, traditional end of the year parties simply won’t be possible for many businesses. Even still, it’s been a pretty tough year to say the least and your team deserves a thank you for enduring the hardship that was 2020. With that in mind, let’s jump into some creative ideas to celebrate together virtually!
Considerations to Keep in Mind
When planning your virtual end of the year party, there’s a few unique things you’ll want to keep in mind to ensure its a success:
Time is of the essence. People don’t have as much uninterrupted time this year, so consider shortening the overall length of your party accordingly.
Fun for the whole family. Is your staff juggling work, family and their home lives? Why not invite the whole family? Instead of trying to find a time away, find a time to include them all.
Your undivided attention, please. Now more than ever, your party needs to be engaging. Most of your attendees will likely be on their laptop, meaning they can easily be distracted by email notifications or social media.
Embrace the experience. 2020 has been a one-of-a-kind year. Your end of the year party should not look like an office video call. While it does not have to be anything like what you’ve done in the past for holiday office parties, it can be exciting and new.
Selecting your virtual platform. Gather your team in some of our favorite new event platforms this holiday season. Your team may have been meeting in teams, google meet, zoom or another traditional work platform. Get them outside of Zoom and head to one of the unique 2-D or even 3-D event spaces. These platforms allow for mingling and conversation, engagement and shared experiences. Our team will curate a combination of experiences to offer your staff a variety of engagement and sprinkle in elements of surprise.
Engaging Ideas for Your End of the Year Party
Here are several ideas we’ve lined up that keep all of the above considerations in mind and stick with our favorite ingredients for fun: Food, drink, and engaging entertainment.

· Game night, or trivia challenges in the form of popular games like Jeopardy and Family Feud, hosted by some of our favorite personalities.
· Ask your guests to dress up! (at least from the waist up) An ugly sweater competition or a fun hat contest will make for a great party!

· Surprise your team with a trip to our Virtual Casino with real dealers, live from Las Vegas.
· Have a big-name entertainer do a live or pre-recorded shout out to your staff. Since performers don’t have to travel, they can
perform from their homes. Magicians, mentalists, performers and music, live and in person online.
· Get your team up and away for the screen a bit with a Scavenger Hunt for things around their house.
· Gift Swap! Pick a name randomly and buy a gift for someone in the office. Make sure to ship it out ahead of the gathering!
