Who’s in Control? Making the Best of a One of a Kind Year
The world has changed a lot since the start of 2020. Every industry was impacted in a unique way when the COVID-19 pandemic was declared a national emergency in the United States. Today, we wanted to discuss how the pandemic has impacted our industry, the steps we’re taking to regain control and what that means for you!
Typically, when planning an event, we start about six months and even as far out as two years to secure the venue, think about all the guests we want to invite and what we want to do at the event. When COVID-19 hit back in March, every single plan got put on hold. As time marched on, it started to become clear that the events we originally rescheduled had to be postponed yet again. The big question everyone is asking now is when we can regain control.
The answer? Right now! We can’t be sure when the time will come that we can fully resume planning physical parties like we’ve been doing for over 20 years. What we do know is that we can keep the celebration going in the meantime!
Keeping the Celebration Going
In the midst of cancellations and postponements, our team was committed to becoming experts in a new way to continue celebrating. We discovered that the best course of action was to commit to creating top notch virtual and hybrid events. In truth, the new venture made us look inside ourselves. We have plenty of creatives on our team, but we wanted to bring in some additional talent to ensure that our digital and hybrid events matched the same high standard of our physical events. As such, we’ve been collaborating with several talented fellow event planners to create the most engaging events possible.
We’ve been so happy with the results! Thus far in 2020, we’re so honored to have been part of beautiful hybrid weddings, memorable online Bar and Bat Mitzvahs and several other trail blazing events. Last month, we were even part of a large summit that aimed to help event professionals across the world optimize their digital events.
Ultimately, we know this year may have caused you to alter or even cancel big plans that you and your loved ones had been looking forward to. However, you don’t have to feel out of control. There are plenty of ways to celebrate safely and you don’t have to wait to do so! After all, the holidays are on the horizon, and you can’t postpone the holidays!
