A Look Into a Beautiful 2020 Summer Wedding

A Look into a Beautiful 2020 Summer Wedding_wide.jpg

Over 200 were in attendance for Liz and Yoni’s recent summer wedding. That may seem like a lot for a gathering in 2020, but their hybrid wedding allowed guests to safely and joyfully witness their special day from in person and all across the country!

Like many things in life, weddings are a little different this year. When the world pandemic hit earlier in the year, Liz and Yoni knew they still wanted to say, “I do” on their intended wedding date. Innovative Party Planners teamed up with Focal Point Productions to help make this a reality! The end result was a hybrid wedding experience that was enjoyable for live guests, over 200 online guests, and of course: the newlywed couple!

The configuration of this wedding was very fascinating and unique. To start the ceremony, the flower girls tossed flowers from baskets in their homes. The sister of the groom smiled via Zoom and the sister of the bride walked down the sidewalk. Each sister was able to participate in the processional due to the added flexibility of partially virtual weddings.

The groom, followed by the bride, walked down the sidewalk as their live guests cheered. They proceeded to the front steps of their brownstone in the heart of Washington D.C. (which served as the chuppa on this occasion) and stood opposite of their Rabbi, who participated via a Zoom video call, officiating from St. Louis, MO.

Of course, each of the 200+ virtual guests were able to witness all of these festivities as well. After the ceremony, physical guests and virtual guests were invited to dance and celebrate the special day in unison.

Weddings are certainly different in 2020, but Liz and Yoni’s ceremony displayed that cherished memories can be formed at traditional and non-traditional weddings alike!  Check out this video recap of the ceremony for a glimpse into a successful 2020 wedding!
