Ringing in the Year of the Optometrist at This Unique New Year’s Party

2020 marked the start of a new decade, and at Innovative Party Planners, we celebrated in style by planning and executing this unique optometrist-themed new year’s day brunch. 2020 is the year of the optometrist, so Amy Webb and Brian Woolf of Woolf Eye Lab came to us with a brilliant idea and left the details in our hands. We didn’t hold back and designed a once-in-a-lifetime new year’s party to ring in the new year. 

Our team created a gorgeous mood board filled with creative décor that celebrates both optometry and the new decade. We utilized gorgeous shades inspired by different eye colors, including deep blue, stunning bronze and unique teal. Prints included fun, high-contrast glasses and eye prints that were incorporated throughout the décor, including on custom printed table runners and pillows. 

Centerpieces seamlessly combined optical illusions, eye charts, glasses cases and other retina-related accessories to make every table unique and fun. Who said that healthcare and medical parties needed to be boring and drab?

The delicious foods served each highlighted the different eye and health benefits of the food. From fruit salad with anti-inflammatory properties that benefit eye health to hummus filled with chickpeas that have high zinc levels to avoid AMD, our client thought of every detail. Cupcakes were adorned with eyes and glasses atop delicious flavors including strawberries & cream, 24 carrot, chocolate peanut butter and chunky cookie dough. What is a cupcake without a delicious, cozy hot cocoa bar offered with different syrups, candies and toppings to make a one-of-a-kind cup of cocoa?

Young guests enjoyed creating beautiful kaleidoscopes as well as decorating cookies and marshmallows with candy and icing to mimic eyeballs. Every guest also brought home optometry-themed mugs filled with small eye-shaped chocolates and their own spin art creation that wonderfully mimicked retinas. This new year’s day party was the perfect way to celebrate the year of the optometrist.
