Spotlighting Sustainability: Our First Annual Teacher Appreciation Day Event
Sustainability has always been a pillar of our business here at Innovative Party Planners, in fact, it is one of the five core values our company puts emphasis on. Earlier this year, we published a blog post about a few of our efforts to embrace sustainability throughout our day-to-day lives as party planners. We’re always searching for even more ways to keep sustainability at the forefront, and we have another one we’ve been excited to share with you! Read on to learn more about our exciting Teacher Appreciation Day, 2022!
A Great Idea Put into Action
One day, our staff was going through our props and décor for inventory purposes and simply cleaning up shop. After all, we always strive to keep our centerpiece rentals up to date with new, state-of-the-art items to keep the party going. But what can be done with old décor and props? Rather than tossing them in the landfill, we’d prefer to give them a new home.
That’s where Carly came in! She had the idea of repurposing and donating our items for teachers, and we quickly got to work arranging an event to do just that! We created a Facebook event, poster, and contacted some of our favorite vendors: Dreamers Event Rentals, Perfectly Wrapped, DJ Mike on the Mic, and a big shoutout to Maryland Mojo Photo for making this event extra special with their amazing photo booth! Here is the result of our preparation:
In addition to repurposing our materials for teachers who we hope will benefit from them this upcoming school year, we also celebrated another great cause on July 28: The Baltimore Hunger Project. Here is a brief word from Lynne Kahn, Executive Director:
“On behalf of the children Baltimore Hunger Project supports, we are so grateful to Heidi, Innovative Party Planners, and everyone who came together to make this Back to School Event so successful! Because of you, we were able to raise awareness about weekend childhood hunger that exists in our own community. The funds that were donated will enable us to provide 55-weekend food packages to our littlest and most vulnerable neighbors!”
Their cause is active year-round, and we greatly appreciate any donations you can make toward their mission of feeding children in the Baltimore area.
