Innovative Party Planners providing decorating and styling tips to transition your home for the upcoming holidays and winter. * Styling is based on the Danish lifestyle trend hygge, pronounced "hoo-ga". * Hygge embodies a feeling of cozy contentment and warmth. We will show you how to bring a little hygge to your home, office or event this season.

Hygge in Your Home

This Danish styling trend is very popular this year, and it is all about things that make you feel cozy and content. Hygge, pronounced hoo-ga, is a great way to warm up your home and create a gorgeous festive environment that you can’t wait to celebrate the holidays in. The great news is that you can easily reuse many of the Thanksgiving and fall touches you used to decorate your home for the winter and holiday season. Slices of wood, buffalo plaid throws and rustic containers that bring the fall and comfort of the season indoors are excellent for incorporating hygge. As you can see in the mood board below and during the segment, items that are perfect for bringing hygge into your home can easily be found today in your closet or in décor stores.

Gathering Around the Holiday Table

The two mood boards below are excellent inspiration for your holiday table and living room this year. Comfortably bulky knit and Sherpa throws, rich velvet materials and faux fur all warm up the mood in your room and make guests feel at ease. Trendy plaids don’t need to stay on your shirt or pillows, either! Plaid tablecloths are a fun way to add personality to your table, and they can be mixed and matched with fun striped plates and sleek black silverware and dishes for a bold statement.

You don’t only need one tree in your home! Instead, use trees made out of different rustic materials like twine, vines or greenery to add interesting visual accents to the table scape or living room. We love incorporating candle sticks of various heights and gorgeous pillar candles to set the mood around the table and experiment with height. In general, we recommend never using anything higher than 14 inches on your dining room table, as pieces higher than that will prevent you from having convenient conversation with those gathered around the table.
