As we all know, this past year and a half has been challenging for all industries, but especially the event industry. It seems every day we hear something different about the COVID-19 situation, rules and regulations surrounding us. While we know it is a difficult storm to weather, we are remaining full of optimism and hope as we keep fighting against COVID-19 and we wanted to share with you a few things that our team is doing in our effort to safely plan parties during this time.

Flexibility is Fundamental

By now, we have a firm understanding that expecting the unexpected is a crucial skill in the 2020’s. Our saga with the pandemic is being rewritten with new plot twists seemingly each day. If anything, this has made us more flexible than ever before. As you prepare for your upcoming gathering, these tips will help you and your attendees stay on track:

●       Hire a Covid Compliance Officer to help keep on top of the ever-changing rules and regulations.

●       Launch an event website to provide access to key updates leading up to the event.

●       Gather attendees’ email address to send out updates.

●       Know your guest list and how comfortable they feel with the situation.

Across the board, an emphasis on flexibility is necessary for successful party planning in 2021. Since everything is changing one day after another, a flexible approach in which you plan for the worst and hope for the best is the route forward.

Not Forgetting About Safety

Virtual events worked brilliantly as a way to keep the party going during the pandemic, and engaging, well produced virtual events continue to be just as effective as in-person events in 2021. If you’d prefer an in-person event, however, they are still possible! Sanitization, mask wearing, and vaccination/ proof of negative COVID-19 tests are all methods we support. Ultimately, we’ve found that in-person events that offer a streaming/virtual alternative, referred to as hybrid events, are a great way to accommodate all your attendees’ needs, concerns and preferences.

The Delta variant has become a serious matter across the nation and has served as a reminder that things are not quite back to normal.
